What you can move with one operator.

Granite, quartz, and stone slabs.

Full-size kitchen islands, vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, staircase treads, and exterior cladding. Polished, leather, or honed finishes. Vacuum grips any sealed, non-porous surface. Up to about 2,200 lb when the geometry suits.

Stone fabricators

Ceramic and large-format porcelain wall tile.

Shower walls, accent walls, exterior cladding, oversized 3cm porcelain panels for floors and walls.

Architectural glass.

IGUs, hurricane-impact residential glass, storefront panes, curtain wall units. Vacuum cups handle smooth surfaces a forklift can't.

Glaziers

Sheet metal and architectural metal panels.

ACM rainscreen, painted metal facades, mechanical equipment housings.

HVAC condensers and mechanical equipment.

With the fork attachment, the SL609 places AC condenser units on wall-mounted slabs at the side of raised beach houses. Tight side yards, no four-person stairway carry. Not ideal for rooftop placement unless the roof sits below the unit's reach height with the forks.

If you're not sure whether the SL609 fits your job, send the load weight, dimensions, and surface material with your quote request. We'll tell you yes or no before you commit.

You don't need a Smartlift operator.

Smartlifts are built for non-specialists. The remote-control panel is six buttons. Vacuum engages with one trigger. Tilt and rotate are intuitive. Our driver shows your crew how to run it on drop-off. The walkthrough takes about twenty minutes.

If you can drive a pallet jack, you can run a Smartlift.

If you'd rather have a Smartlift-trained operator from our team run the unit on your jobsite, ask on your quote. We'll add it as a separate line.

Why this unit, and not the bigger or smaller models?

The SL609 HLE RT sits in the sweet spot for Florida work. Bigger units (the 1,500 kg-and-up class) are overkill for most stone shops and residential glass jobs. They don't fit through doorways or onto roofs as easily. Smaller indoor-only units can't handle hurricane-impact glass or oversized slabs. The SL609 is rated for the picks Florida trades actually run, and it travels well on a Florida jobsite.

If your job needs an indoor-only unit (kitchen install in a tight condo) or a larger 1,500+ kg lifter for a commercial facade pick, talk to us. We have access to the full Smartlift lineup and can either route you to a partner or quote a sale.

Want to buy one instead?

Iron Bay is a Smartlift partner across the full lineup. SL380 Indoor, SL608 Outdoor HL, SL609 HLE RT, the larger 1,500 kg-class units, and the new releases. If renting isn't the right fit and your team is ready to own the equipment, we can help spec the right model and source it through the manufacturer.

SL609 FAQ.

What's the weight limit?

The SL609 HLE RT is rated to about 2,200 lb (1,000 kg class). Actual capacity depends on the load's geometry, surface, and lift angle. Flat smooth loads near the unit's center of gravity are at full rating. Awkward picks de-rate. Send your load specs and we'll confirm before booking.

Will it fit through a standard doorway?

The SL609 HLE RT is built for outdoor use and rough terrain. Confirm published unit width on the spec sheet. If you need to maneuver through a 36" doorway or a tight interior, the indoor SL380 is the right unit. We don't currently rent that one, but we can help you source one.

Does it run on batteries or do I need to plug it in?

Battery-electric. The unit ships with a charger and a charged battery. For long rentals or heavy daily use we'll send instructions on the charge cycle. No fuel, no fumes, works indoors.

What surfaces will the vacuum grip?

Smooth, non-porous. Glass, polished or sealed stone, porcelain, ceramic, painted or coated metal panels. Rough or open-cell surfaces (raw stone, aerated concrete, raw mill-finish metal) won't form a seal. Send a photo of your load and we'll confirm.

What's the difference between this and a forklift?

A forklift carries on forks underneath the load. Fine for crates and pallets, terrible for slabs of glass or stone where there's nothing under the load to grab. The SL609 grabs from above with vacuum cups, then tilts and rotates the load into place. One operator does what four people on forks can't safely do.

Can I rent it for a single day?

Yes. One-day minimum.
