Capacity depends on reach.

This is the part worth understanding before you book anything.

Capacity is 2,200 lb with the arm in and 620 lb at full extension. That second figure is nearly double the 609's, and it is the real reason to reach for this machine rather than the headline capacity. Send us the weight and the distance and we will confirm the fit.

What it is good at.

Four jobs this machine does better than anything else we could send.

  1. Heavy slabs

Jumbo granite and quartzite where the 609 is close to its limit.

  2. Oversized glass

Large impact units and curtain wall panels, where weight and reach both run high.

  3. Weight out at distance

620 lb at full extension is the specification that separates this from everything else in the line.

  4. Reading the load

The display shows load strain as you lift, which matters when you are near the limit.

When it is the wrong machine.

We would rather tell you now than send a truck for nothing.

  • Tight indoor accessIt is 3 ft wide and 3,260 lb. If the job is inside a finished house through a standard door, the 609 is the machine.
  • Light workIf your heaviest piece is well under 1,300 lb, this is more machine than you need and the 609 costs less to move.
  • RooftopsSame answer as the 609. Not a crane, and we will say so.

SL1009 HLE questions.

The five that come up on nearly every call.

How much more can it lift than the 609?

880 lb more with the arm in, and nearly double at full extension, 620 lb against 330. The reach figure is the meaningful difference.

Will it fit through a doorway?

It is 3 ft wide, so a standard 36 inch door is very tight and the working footprint is larger. For indoor residential work the 609 is usually the right call.

How long does the battery last?

Eight hours of running time, about ten hours to charge.

What comes with it?

A ramp, the walkthrough on drop-off, phone support for the rental, and pickup. Same as the 609.

Can I get attachments for it?

Ask us. We are confirming the attachment story for this unit with the manufacturer and would rather tell you nothing than tell you wrong.

The other machine.

Two units on the yard. If you are not sure which one your job needs, send us the weight of your heaviest piece.

Got a heavy set on the calendar?

Tell us the weight and the zip. You’ll have an itemized quote back within two hours.
