A big slab is ten feet six inches long.

The stairA house landing is three to four feet deep with about six feet eight of headroom. You cannot pivot a ten-foot-six panel through it. That is geometry, not strength, and no amount of crew fixes it.
The manufacturerNeolith’s own handling manual opens by saying slabs “must be loaded, unloaded and transported by means of a forklift, bridge crane or other hoisting device.” Carrying by hand is not the approved method.
The failurePorcelain does not crack like natural stone. It shatters, and the pieces are sharp. A dropped slab is a remake and a missed date, at best.

What the pads hold.

Clean, non-porous glass seals reliably. Anything coated or textured, send a photo first.

Insulated glass: Double and triple glazed, standard and oversized.
Laminated impact glass: The Florida workhorse. Heavy, and exactly what this is for.
Monolithic and tempered: Storefront lites, entrances, interior partitions, shower and mirror work.
Spandrel and coated: Usually fine. Coatings vary, so we confirm the pad seal before booking.

If your piece is over 1,300 lb or has unusual geometry, send the specs and a photo. We confirm the fit before you book, not after.

Glass and glazing questions.

The five that come up on nearly every call.

How heavy a pane can it handle?

1,320 lb with the arm in, dropping to 330 lb at full extension. Reach matters as much as weight on a glazing job, so tell us both and we will confirm the fit.

Will it seal on coated or low-E glass?

Usually. Coatings vary and a few give the pads trouble, so send a photo or the product code and we will confirm before you book.

Can it work inside a finished building?

Yes, with the wheels sorted. It is battery electric, so there are no fumes. Standard tires can mark a finished floor, so tell us when you book. Non-marking wheels are an available option.

What about setting glass at height?

Capacity drops as the arm goes out. That is true of every vacuum lifter. Give us the panel weight and the reach and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

Do I need a trained operator?

No. Our driver runs your crew through the controls on drop-off. If you can drive a pallet jack, you can run a Smartlift.
